Pakistan gets $ 984.52m US aid

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has received aid commitments of US $ 984.52 million from various countries for the flood-affected people till September 1, 2010.

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari today called upon Britain to send a team of its experts to see what improvements can be made in the Sukkur barrage to enable it withstand the onslaught and minimize the adverse impact of such floods in the future, a suggestion that was promptly accepted by the visiting British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg who promised to send a team of British experts for this purpose.
