:: Rhythm of peace ::

By Sundus Mustaqeem

Hello people, today I have something very special to share with you. Recently a musical show with the slogan of 'Rhythm of Peace' was arranged by the 'Voice Society for the rehabilitation of the special persons' and 'Mobilink' (community welfare central team).

Basically the aim of the show was to throw light on the instability of peace in Pakistan. The Voice Society is working for the betterment of special persons since 1995 with the collaboration of various NGOs. There is a voice Dramatic Society that performs general issue based stage plays and different events for fund raising for the betterment of the special persons (plays perform by special persons). The significance of this show was that it was arranged by special persons. They caught the attention of the audience by their inspiring and mind-blowing performances. Different comperes including Mr and Mrs Mohsin Nawaz and from Voice Society and Rana Umair from Moblink, added more liveliness in the show, especially Mr Mohsin, who made people to think through his meaningful words.

Ali Ayan, Ali Raza, Muhammad Ali and Dr Umair sung melodious songs.

An astonishing mime was performed on the rhythm of peace by some special persons of the Voice Society. The performances were headed by the President of the Voice Society, Mr Humayun Zaheer. Also this young and talented person gave a solo fabulous dance recital on tabla to present the message of peace. Moreover, Arif Lohar, Humera Arshad, Malko, Shabnam Majeed, Naghmana Jafeery, Awas Afridi, Jia Ali, Ahmad Butt and others made this event unforgettable by presenting their superlative performances; particularly Arif Lohar, who won the audience's hearts and had them dancing. He also got the special award from the Technical Manager of Moblink. Another important thing about the musical show was that all the special persons were in white dresses --- white, which is a symbol of peace. The popularity of the show could be seen by the large number of the audience, who liked and appreciated the efforts of the special persons, working for peace by joining hand with Moblink. Actually this show was arranged to create awareness in the general public about the problems and needs of the persons with disabilities. Also participating in such activities is helpful to motivate and instill self-confidence in handicapped persons.

The message of these special persons which they gave is 'we want peace not pieces'.
